Mark Grabow joined the After-School All-Stars Program Team in July 2018 to serve as a Program Manager. He manages programming at Fremont Middle School, Josh Stevens Elementary School, and Von Tobel Middle School. Mark brings a wealth of experience working with government agencies on projects and programs providing services to the public.
Originally from Nevada, Mark has lived in Oregon for most of his life. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southern Oregon University, where he also served as a Disability Accommodations Coordinator for a number of years. He also possesses a Master of Public Administration degree and a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability from Portland State University. Having previously worked on a suicide hotline, he has received training and certificates in Mediation/Conflict Management and Suicide Prevention/Crisis Intervention.
One of the reasons Mark was so interested in working with After-School All-Stars is because he grew up in low-income neighborhoods and graduated high school at a nontraditional/at-risk school. Committed to positively impacting the lives of young folks, Mark was a Big Brother through Big Brothers/Big Sisters Columbia Northwest while in graduate school. In his free time, Mark likes to read, write, exercise, spend time in nature, and prepare tasty healthy meals. He also loves cruising country roads on his motorcycle!
